How many products should I try to promote using affiliate marketing?

I’m new to the whole idea of affiliate marketing but I get the concept. I was just wondering how many products I should try to promote on my website and how I should go about promoting them. I’ve read of people saying that new people should only promote a few products but then my website would only be a couple pages? Any comments/ help would be good thank you.

Just to keep it simple to start off with I would do no more than 11 items and try to keep affiliate banner links to a minimum of 2 or 3 and be sure to space them apart from each other otherwise your site looks like a billboard, been there done that and won’t make that mistake again. As far as the number of pages, I would try to keep it to one or two if you can, having a lot of pages doesn’t mean that your site is better. You want to be able to say what you want to say on one page with your links going to the affiliate sites. Don’t be to wordy, keep the word count to a minimum of a thousand. People read 25% slower on their computers then they do reading a book. You can also use a carousel that a certain affiliate provider has to help promote products with a visual picture and price of the product and you can have 10 items on that 1 carousel.

As far as promoting the product, write article and submit them to the myriad of article submission sites just make the article informative, something that people want to read. Then put your link to your site in the source box. You can also do you tube videos about products, Face book for business is good, even twitter now is a big thing. You can also go to forums to get people to your site.

If you want to start out with no cost use a blog as a website and put your affiliate links on it. You need to make sure you have word content on the blog or you will eventually get shut down. It’s free to use and there’s no hosting or domain name fees and you can put a tracking code in the blog just like a website to keep track of traffic to see how many hits you are getting. I do this myself with blogs, and it’s nice to not have to worry about money going out for different things. You also want to put out as many sites as you can just having 1 site is not good, multiple sites increases your chances of making money.

Pick a niche and write good high quality reviews on the products, just make your content unique and before you know if you will be getting good traffic, make sure to put backlinks out there as well so google and the other search engines can find you easily. So as you write a review be sure to include your affiliate links into the review, and make your images also link to the affiliate page, I hope that helps. There’s no limit to what you cant sell, just make sure you know what you’re talking about and go at it. Dont post a few products, post thousands and you’ll really start to see some cash flow.

I use twitter for most my marketing, i have an account for every niche, I stumbled across this amazing tool at http://tweetattacks.com/?e=tweetthis and it made my twitter marketing 90% more efficient.

Im pulling in 500 bones a week because of this software, if your even thinking about promoting products or driving traffic to your website or blog using twitter, you need this tool, there is none like it.

I shorten and track my links that i post to twitter with bit.ly and i literally get 4-6 visitors every 1 minute, even when using accounts with 0 followers.
