The Yahoo/Msn & Microsoft Windows lottery has discovered a huge number of double claims due to winners informing close friends relatives and third parties about their winning and also sharing their pin numbers. As a result of this, this friends try to claim the lottery on behalf of the real winners. The Microsoft lottery has reached a decision from headquarters that any double claim discovered by the Lottery Board will result to the cancelling of that particular winning, making a loss for both the double claimer and the real winner, as it is taken that the real winner was the informer to the double claimer about the lottery. So you are hereby strongly advised once more to keep your winnings strictly confidential until you claim your prize.

    S C A M… i got this from microsoft today..
Did you win the "Microsoft Lottery"?
Have you received an e-mail claiming to be from Microsoft, which states that you are the winner of a large amount of money? It would be great news if it were true, but it’s not. This is a type of e-mail scam known as "advance fee fraud." Please do not respond. Get tips on how to avoid this scam and others in this post on the Security Tips & Talk blog.

Delete it and do not respond or click any links …..just bin it and empty your recycle bin……

You should NEVER trust those kind of emails. It doesn’t matter how convincing they get. They’re looking for stupid people to actually give them that information. Don’t reply back to them either. I get the same exact emails. If they don’t hear from you, they will stop sending you emails soon, because they will think that your email address is wrong because someone sold it to them. In other words, when you subscribed to an email, or entered a contest, that one site sold your email address, and the fake lottery place doesn’t know if your email address is correct or not. If you reply to them, they will know that your address is correct, and they will not stop sending you emails.

Ahh….nothing like a nice scam message to top the day off with. Just ignore it and trash it, not worth it to even consider this a real piece of mail.

It’s a scam. Note the misspellings & the fact that you are not told what you have won, and that you have to pay fees to get it, and that you can’t tell any friends or family.
I would delete it – or forward it to Yahoo so that they will be aware of it.

This is a very common type of scam. Eventually you will be asked to send a check for a substantial amount of money. You might even be sent a check which you are told to deposit to reimburse you for the amount you send, but this check would be fraudulent or a forgery. A few months ago, I got one of these lottery scam "winner notifications", along with a check for me to deposit (not the large winning check). I did some searching on the internet, and found that other people had received the same letter, and in fact, found a newspaper article about one woman a couple of counties away from me who had lost a substantial amount of money.

Go to Google and search "Lottery scams" and you’ll probably be able to find some information about you exact letter.
