I was wondering what types of businesses have the greatest ROI with sponsored search advertising.

More than the business categories its more to do with how good your product packaging relevance and communication strategy is in place……for Eg:- a very well packaged ice cream will sell better than condoms…..so sex versus food which categoty works better?
